The second exam will be on March 27, 2018.
For the midterm, you will have to:
- Show some equivalences between different logic formulas (i.e., rewrite complex logic formulas as formulas involving NAND operations only).
- Write some assembly language fragments for my simple computer.
- Turn some assembly language fragments into machine language...by hand!
- Demonstrate knowledge of how you might change (enhance) the design of the simple computer. (This is something new not covered in class! I will be assessing your level of familiarity with the simple computer and with computer operations (e.g., LOAD, STORE, IN, OUT, and so on.)
Review everything we have covered so far. Read all of the notes up to and including the “A Simple Computer” page.
If I posted anything on Slack for you to read on the side, do so.
Make sure Worksheet #3 is completed and you are comfortable with solving those problems quickly. Try some of the practice problems accessible from the course web page as well!
